Check the warranty yourself
You do not have to take our word for it. Apple lets anyone look up any device, and it takes about a minute. Do it in the shop before you pay if you like — we would rather you did.
- 1
Get the serial number or IMEI
Click the Apple menu in the top-left corner and choose About This Mac. The serial number is shown there, and you can select it to copy.
It is also printed on the barcode label of the original box, so you can check a sealed unit without opening it.
- 2
Enter it on Apple’s own checker
Go to checkcoverage.apple.com and type the serial in. This is Apple’s site, not ours.
- 3
Read what it tells you
Apple confirms the model it holds against that serial and whether repair and support coverage is active. If the model shown is not the model you are buying, walk away — from us or from anyone.
One thing that surprises people: on a brand-new sealed device, Apple often reports that the purchase date has not been validated yet. That is normal and it is not a red flag — the clock starts when the device is activated or when proof of purchase is supplied. Your iTey Store receipt is that proof, so keep it.
Every Apple device we sell is brand new, sealed and never activated, sourced through licensed distributors, and carries the manufacturer warranty. If a check ever comes back wrong on something you bought from us, bring it back.
Buying Mac Studio in Kenya
Mac Studio is the quietest big-ticket purchase we ship in Kenya — most buyers are AI engineers, video studios, and senior developers who already know what they want. These are the conversations we still have to walk every buyer through before they hit pay.
Mac Studio M5 Max or M5 Ultra — the decision turns on unified memory, not chip
The M5 Max with 64GB unified memory handles 95% of professional creative and engineering workloads sold in Kenya — Final Cut Pro 8K timelines, Logic Pro session counts beyond 200 tracks, Xcode + simulator + heavy Docker. You only need the M5 Ultra when your workload is local LLM inference at the 70B+ parameter scale. If you are buying for video, code or 3D — Max is almost always the right buy.
Unified memory at this scale is non-upgradeable — buy 12–24 months ahead of your roadmap
Mac Studio's RAM is soldered to the SoC. There is no aftermarket upgrade, ever. If you plan to grow into 70B-parameter local models within the next year, buy the memory now. The KSh 200,000 step from 96GB → 192GB is painful at checkout but trivial compared to selling the machine 14 months later to buy the config you should have bought first.
Mac Studio is a build-to-order machine — Nairobi lead time matters
Unlike Mac Mini, Mac Studio configurations beyond the base M5 Max are not always in showroom stock. Higher-RAM and larger-storage units typically take 5–10 working days to land in Nairobi via our supplier network. Tell us your config the day you decide — we lock supplier-side stock that morning instead of after deposit, which routinely shaves a week off your delivery.
Payment rails — the bigger Mac Studio configs are bank-transfer territory
Lipa na M-Pesa caps at KSh 250,000 per transaction. Any Mac Studio above the base 64GB Max needs either a card payment, a bank transfer, or a split M-Pesa run across multiple tills. Bank transfer is by far the cleanest — talk to us first and we will share the iTey corporate account so the transfer clears before you arrive at Cookie House to collect.
The display question — Apple Studio Display vs the third-party reality
Apple Studio Display is the matched pairing Apple wants you to make. In our showroom we tell the truth: for half the price, a 27-inch 5K third-party display delivers 95% of the experience. The Apple display is worth its premium only if you want the matched aluminum aesthetic and the integrated webcam. For pure workstation duty, we steer most buyers to a quality third-party 5K.
Who should not buy a Mac Studio (yet)
We will say it plainly in the showroom: skip Mac Studio if you (a) need portability — a 16-inch MacBook Pro M5 Max gives 90% of the performance and you can take it to clients, (b) primarily play AAA Windows games — even M5 Ultra's 80-core GPU is the wrong machine for that workload, or (c) are buying based on "future-proofing" without a clear workload that uses the headroom. Mac Studio is a workhorse, not a status piece.
