Valorant Points in Kenya — Why Your Card Says "Wrong Region" and Which One Actually Works

If you've bought a Valorant card before and been told "This code is not valid for your region", this page is for you. Riot's prepaid cards are locked to the server region of the account — and the card most Kenyans are sold is the wrong one. Here is which region a Kenyan Valorant or League account actually sits on, which card that needs, what Valorant Points cost, and how to redeem. Updated September 2026.

The region question, answered once

Valorant has a handful of server regions — North America, Latin America, Brazil, Asia-Pacific, Korea, and Europe, which covers all of Europe, the Middle East and Africa. There is no Africa region. When you created your Riot account from Kenya, it went on the Europe region, and you play on European servers. The same is true for League of Legends and Wild Rift: Kenyan players are on EUW (Europe West), sometimes EUNE.

That means the card you need is a Europe card, in euros. A US-dollar "North America" card — the one many resellers push because it's the most common — will not redeem on your account, and Riot does not allow you to change region to make it work.

To check: in Valorant, your region shows in the client settings; in League, it's the letters after your Riot ID on the login screen (EUW or EUNE). If it says either of those, the cards below are the right ones.

Prices exclude VAT. A €10 card is exactly 1,000 VP; the other rows show the points a purchase of that value gives at Riot's European store rate, so treat them as close rather than exact — Riot credits the card's euro value and the points follow from its current tiers. The code is emailed within a minute of your M-Pesa payment confirming.

One card, two games: the same card gives Valorant Points in Valorant or Riot Points in League of Legends, Wild Rift and Teamfight Tactics. You choose when you redeem.

Skin prices are Riot's standard tier prices and don't change with region; bundle prices vary by what's in them.

What a year of Valorant costs

Valorant runs in acts — roughly six a year — and the Battle Pass is 1,000 VP each. Buy every pass and that is 6,000 VP a year. The cheapest way to hold that from our table is one €50 card (about 5,350 VP) plus one €10 card (1,000 VP): KSh 13,030 for the year, or about KSh 1,086 a month, with a few hundred VP over for a Select skin. Buying a €10 card per act instead costs KSh 19,680 — a little less, but you pay six times and hold nothing between acts. Add one Premium skin a year (1,775 VP) and the €50 + €25 pair (KSh 15,531) covers everything with change.

The lesson is the same as every game: the bigger card is the cheaper VP. Buy the €5 once to prove the redemption works on your account, then buy big.

How to redeem

Valorant

Open the Valorant client and sign in.
Click the VP icon at the top right (next to your Valorant Points balance).
Choose Prepaid Cards & Codes.
Enter the code we emailed you and submit. The VP is credited immediately.

League of Legends

Open the League client → Store → Purchase RP.
Choose Prepaid Cards & Codes, enter the code, submit.

If the client says the code isn't valid for your region, stop and check the region letters on your login screen before doing anything else — that message is about the account, not the code.

Frequently asked questions

My account says NA. Can I use these?

No. A Europe card only redeems on a Europe-region account. If you created your account while abroad on a North American server, you'd need a US card — message us and we'll advise; we don't currently stock NA cards because almost no Kenyan account needs one.

Can I redeem it for a friend?

The code is redeemed inside the client of the account that receives the points. Send them the code; they redeem it on their own account, as long as that account is on the Europe region too.

Why euros and not shillings?

Riot has no Kenyan store. Kenyan accounts sit on the European region and its store is priced in euros, so the card is too. You pay us in shillings; the game sees euros.

Do the points expire?

No. VP and RP sit in your account until you spend them.

Is this refundable?

Only if we fail to deliver the code. Once it's in your inbox it's a live voucher — and because Riot locks it to region, please check yours before you buy rather than after.
