    Best Racing Wheel in Kenya 2026 — G29, G923 & Thrustmaster

A racing wheel is the single biggest upgrade you can make to Gran Turismo 7, F1 26 or Assetto Corsa — bigger than a new TV, bigger than a faster console. It is also the accessory most people in Kenya buy wrong, because the advice online is written for buyers in the UK and America who have different prices, different stock and a different set of choices.

This is what actually makes sense in Nairobi in 2026, with real prices from our shelf.

Short answer: buy the Logitech G29 or the G923

For nearly everyone in Kenya, the right wheel is a Logitech:

The reason is not that Logitech makes the best wheels — at the top end it does not. It is that Logitech wheels are the ones with parts, support and a second-hand market in Kenya. A wheel you cannot get serviced is a wheel you own until it breaks once.

G29 or G923 — which should you actually buy?

Both are dual-motor force feedback with a helical gear drive, a 900-degree wheel and a three-pedal set including a clutch. The G923 adds Logitech's TRUEFORCE feedback, which reads the game's audio and physics to give texture through the wheel — you feel the road surface and the engine, not just the weight of the car. It is supported in a growing but limited list of titles.

Our honest take: the G29 at KSh 41,500 with Gran Turismo 7 in the box is the better buy for most people. You are getting a full game worth roughly KSh 7,000 and spending KSh 4,499 less. Take the G923 if you play the specific titles that support TRUEFORCE and you care about that texture — it is a real difference, not marketing, but it is a refinement rather than a transformation.

Neither is a mistake. Do not spend an evening agonising over it.

A warning about the cheapest wheel

The Hori Apex at KSh 24,999 is KSh 16,501 less than the G29, and we sell it because it has a place — a child's first wheel, a casual setup, someone who wants to try racing before committing.

But be clear about what you are buying. The Apex uses spring-and-vibration feedback rather than force feedback with motors. It does not push back when the car loses grip, which is the entire point of a wheel for serious racing. Most people who buy the cheapest wheel first end up buying a G29 within a year and having spent KSh 66,499 to get there.

If racing is a passing interest, buy the Apex. If you know you will play weekly, save for the G29.

When the expensive wheels are worth it

Above KSh 69,999 you change technology, not just quality.

Belt drive — the Thrustmaster T300 range. Smoother and quieter than the G29's gears, with finer detail through the wheel. A noticeable improvement for someone already racing regularly.

Direct drive — the Logitech G PRO and the T-GT II. The wheel mounts straight onto the motor with nothing in between, so nothing is lost. This is what sim racers use, and it is genuinely a different experience. It is also strong enough to hurt your wrists if you set it up carelessly.

Do not buy direct drive as a first wheel. Buy it when you know exactly why you want it.

Do you need a wheel stand?

We do not currently stock wheel stands. Worth saying plainly so you do not travel into town expecting one.

You do not need one to start. Every wheel here clamps to a normal table, and that is how most people play. A stand matters when you are racing several hours a week and your table starts flexing under the force feedback, or when you cannot leave the setup out permanently. Local welders and furniture makers build them cheaply, and there are Kenyan sellers doing dedicated rigs — ask us and we will point you at what our customers use.

Will it work with my console?

Check this before you buy, because it is the mistake that costs money.

    • PS5 and PS4: the G29, G923 (PlayStation edition), T248 PlayStation, T300 range, T-GT II and the Logitech G PRO PlayStation edition.
    • Xbox Series X|S: the T248 Xbox Edition and the Xbox version of the G923. A PlayStation wheel will not work on Xbox. Buying the wrong edition is the single most common racing-wheel mistake.
    • PC: almost everything works.

Not sure which console version you need? WhatsApp us before you order and we will confirm it.

Buy the wheel with the console and save the trip

If you are buying a PS5 anyway, there is a PS5 Slim Disc + Logitech G29 bundle at KSh 129,999 — KSh 6,500 less than buying the two separately. Check the maths yourself — we have written about whether PS5 bundles actually save you money, and the answer is not always what you would expect.

    Frequently asked questions

What is the best racing wheel in Kenya?

For most players, the Logitech G29 at KSh 41,500, which includes Gran Turismo 7. It has proper force feedback, three pedals with a clutch, and it is the wheel with the best parts and support situation in Kenya. The Logitech G923 at KSh 45,999 is the newer version and adds TRUEFORCE feedback in supported games.

How much does a racing wheel cost in Kenya?

From KSh 24,999 for the entry-level Hori Apex to KSh 129,999 for the Thrustmaster T-GT II. The sweet spot for real force feedback is KSh 41,500 to KSh 45,999 — the Logitech G29 or G923.

Does the Logitech G29 come with a stand?

No. The G29 comes with the wheel and the three-pedal set, and it clamps to a table. iTey Store does not currently stock wheel stands. Most players start by clamping to a normal desk, which works well.

Does the G29 work on PS5?

Yes. The Logitech G29 works on PS5, PS4 and PC. Games must support wheels — Gran Turismo 7, F1, Assetto Corsa and WRC all do.

Is the Logitech G923 worth the extra money over the G29?

Only if you play games that support TRUEFORCE, Logitech's feedback system that reads the game's own audio and physics. It is a genuine improvement in feel where it is supported. For everyone else the G29 is better value, particularly ours which includes Gran Turismo 7.

Can I use a PlayStation racing wheel on Xbox?

No. Racing wheels are licensed per platform. A PlayStation wheel will not work on an Xbox and the reverse is also true. Check the edition before you buy — confirm with us on WhatsApp if you are unsure.
