Every shop selling a PS5 in Kenya offers a bundle. Console plus games, console plus a second controller, console plus a racing wheel. The pitch is always the same: buy it together and save.

We sell bundles too. So here is something you will not often get from a shop — the actual arithmetic, using our own published prices, including the bundle where buying separately is cheaper. Do the sum before you buy, from anyone.

The honest answer up front

A PS5 bundle in Kenya usually saves you a little, occasionally saves you nothing, and is almost never the dramatic discount the word "bundle" implies. What it reliably saves is time and a second delivery — everything arrives at once, tested together, under one warranty conversation.

If that is worth something to you, buy the bundle. If you are chasing the lowest possible total, read on.

The bundle saves you KSh 6,500 — and it did not always. When we first ran these numbers the bundle was priced at KSh 136,999, which was KSh 500 more than buying the two separately. We published that, the owner saw it, and the price was corrected the same day. It is now genuinely the cheaper way to buy both.

This is the best bundle on our shelf by pure arithmetic, and it is the one we would point a racing player at.

PS5 Slim Digital + Extra Controller — KSh 89,500

This one against the parts:

• PS5 Slim Digital — KSh 79,999
• Second controller — KSh 9,501 as bundled

That is a fair price for a second pad, and this is the bundle we recommend most often. Two people can play from day one, and the second controller is the thing everyone buys within a month anyway.

PS5 Slim Disc — 3 Games + Extra Controller — KSh 130,500

The big one. Against the console alone at KSh 94,999, you are paying KSh 35,501 for three games and a controller. Buying a controller and three current PS5 titles separately in Nairobi generally lands in the same region or a little above, so this is genuinely reasonable — provided you want those specific games.

That is the catch with every game bundle everywhere: three games you chose beat four games you did not. Ask us which titles are in the current bundle before you order. The line-up changes with stock, and if two of the three are not for you, take the console and pick your own.

PS5 Slim Call of Duty Bundle — KSh 103,999

This bundle is KSh 9,000 over the KSh 94,999 disc console — effectively the game at a discount to buying it on its own. Straightforward, if you were buying that game.

PS5 Slim Digital Edition Bundle — KSh 99,000

So which should you buy?

Two players from day one: the Digital + Extra Controller at KSh 89,500.

You want discs, and the games suit you: the 3 Games + Controller bundle at KSh 130,500.

You are set on racing: the PS5 + G29 bundle at KSh 129,999, which saves KSh 6,500 against the parts. The clearest saving we offer.

You are not sure what you want to play: buy the console alone. PS5 Slim Digital at KSh 79,999 or Disc at KSh 94,999, then add what you actually want. Nobody regrets this.

Digital or disc — decide this first

The disc console costs KSh 15,000 more. It is worth it in Kenya for two reasons that do not apply everywhere.

Second-hand games. A physical disc can be bought used, borrowed, lent and sold on. Kenya has a real second-hand game market; the digital console locks you out of all of it.

Downloads. Current PS5 games run 50GB to 150GB each. On a metered or slow connection that is a genuine cost and a long evening. With discs you install from the disc.

Take Digital if your internet is fast and uncapped and you never buy used. Otherwise the KSh 15,000 usually pays for itself.

What about the PS5 Pro?

The PS5 Pro is the more powerful console and it comes and goes from stock in Kenya. It is worth it if you have a 4K 120Hz TV and play graphically demanding games; on an ordinary 1080p television you will struggle to see where the money went.
