VR is a category Kenyan buyers are curious about but cautious. Here is what we tell every Meta Quest 3 buyer who comes into the showroom — including the question they don't ask but should.
Buy the Quest 3, not the Quest 3S — the upgrade is worth KSh 15,000
The Quest 3S looks like the smart-buy on paper (cheaper, same chip). In practice the Quest 3's pancake lenses and higher-resolution Infinite Display make a material visual difference — sharper text, less "screen-door effect", wider field of view. After a week of use the difference is significant. We routinely upsell buyers to the Quest 3 and have never had a customer return one for the Quest 3S. The 3S is for buyers on a strict KSh 50k budget.
256GB is enough for 80% of buyers — only fitness-heavy users need 512GB
Most VR games are 1-5GB. A typical 5-game library uses 15-25GB. 256GB is comfortable for a long time. The 512GB matters mostly for buyers who plan to keep a large fitness app library installed (Supernatural alone is ~7GB; FitXR ~3GB; Beat Saber song packs add up) or who side-load PC VR games.
