Why the iPhone Duo is worth the money
It is genuinely two devices
Folded, the 5.4-inch outer screen is a full phone — Apple puts it at roughly 90% of an iPhone 18 Pro's screen area. Open, it is a 7.6-inch tablet. You are not carrying a compromised phone for the sake of the fold.
The battery is the best on any iPhone
Two batteries, one per side. Apple quotes 44 hours of video on the outer screen alone. If you spend the day folded — calls, M-Pesa, WhatsApp — and open it only when you want the big screen, it outlasts every other iPhone.
Touch ID suits how we actually use phones here
There is no Face ID. A thumb on the side button works in bright sun, at an angle, and when the phone is flat on a desk — all the moments Face ID makes you pick the phone up.
Built to survive being opened
Grade 5 titanium, Ceramic Shield 2 with three times the scratch resistance, a hinge of over 100 components, and IP68 to six metres. Apple has taken longer than anyone to ship a foldable and this is where the time went.
Three things to know before you reserve
- It is eSIM only. No SIM tray, in any country. Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom support eSIM, but your line has to be converted and swapping it into another handset is no longer a job you do with a pin.
- This is a first-generation hinge. Apple has engineered it seriously, but no foldable hinge has a long track record and Apple's has none at all yet.
- Kenya is not a launch country. Apple ships 23 October elsewhere. Ours arrive through distribution, normally two to four weeks later. Ask us what a screen repair costs before you buy, not after.

When will the iPhone Duo be available in Kenya?
Apple ships from 23 October 2026 in more than 70 countries, and Kenya is not one of them. Stock reaches Nairobi through distribution, which normally runs two to four weeks behind a global launch — so early to mid-November is realistic. Reserve now and we contact you the day yours lands.
Can I actually buy the iPhone Duo now, or only pre-order?

Does the iPhone Duo have Face ID?
No. It uses Touch ID built into the side button, the same as the iPad Air. On a phone with two screens that is the sensible answer, and it works in bright sunlight where Face ID often struggles.
Does the iPhone Duo take a physical SIM card in Kenya?
No. The iPhone Duo is eSIM only in every country — there is no SIM tray at all. Safaricom, Airtel and Telkom all support eSIM, but your line must be converted first, and moving it between handsets is no longer a job you do with a pin. Our team converts your line for you in the showroom.

The iPhone 18 Pro Max for most people: it starts at KSh 184,999 against KSh 344,999, uses the same A20 Pro chip, and adds a variable-aperture camera the Duo does not have. Choose the Duo if you specifically want a tablet that folds into your pocket and accept that this is a first-generation hinge.
What happens if the folding screen breaks?
The inner display is the most expensive part of any foldable and Kenya has no Apple Store, so a repair means shipping. Ask us for the current screen cost before you buy rather than after — we will tell you straight, and it is a real part of what owning this phone costs.
