The base Fold 8 is a wider, shorter shape with a genuinely usable 5.5" cover screen and a simpler 50MP+50MP camera with no zoom lens. The Fold 8 Ultra is the closer successor to the Fold 7's proportions — an 8.0" inner display, a 6.5" cover screen, and a proper flagship camera system with a 200MP main sensor and 3× telephoto. If you want the biggest jump in camera capability, that's the Ultra, not the base Fold 8.
Is the Galaxy Z Fold 8 actually an upgrade over the Fold 7?
Not a straightforward one.
