Phantom Blade Zero Lands 29 October: Price, PS5 Requirements and How to Play It on Day One in Kenya

Phantom Blade Zero releases on 29 October 2026, worldwide, on PlayStation 5 and PC. It is the biggest PS5 release between now and GTA 6, and in Kenya almost nobody is talking about it yet.

This guide covers the confirmed release date and why it moved, what the game actually is, what it will cost in Kenya, whether your PS5 can run it, and how to have it on launch day rather than three weeks later.

The release date, and why it changed

S-GAME, the Chinese studio behind it, originally set 9 September 2026. They pushed it back fifty days to 29 October 2026 for extra polish. That is the date the game launches everywhere, including here.

Two platforms on day one: PlayStation 5 and PC. The PS5 version carries a twelve-month console exclusivity, which means there will be no Xbox version before October 2027. If you are an Xbox-only household, this one is not coming to you this year.

What the game is

Phantom Blade Zero is a dark wuxia action game - Chinese martial-arts fantasy, told with a gothic edge. You fight with blades, at speed. The studio's whole pitch is the combat: faster and more fluid than anything else on the console, built around parries, chains and timing rather than long wind-up attacks.

It is a new story in its own world, not a sequel, so you are not missing context by starting here. The reveal trailer holds one of the highest like-to-view ratios PlayStation has ever posted, which is why the game has carried so much attention for so long.

If you want a comparison to decide quickly: it sits closer to a fast action game like Devil May Cry than to a slow, punishing soulslike, with a visual style no other PS5 game has.

What it will cost in Kenya

We expect the PS5 disc to land at KSh 7,000 to 8,500, in line with other new PS5 releases. That is an estimate, not a confirmed price - we publish the real figure the day our stock is priced, and we would rather tell you that plainly than quote a number we cannot honour.

For context, here is what current PS5 titles cost at iTey Store today:

Game	Price in Kenya
EA Sports FC 27	KSh 8,000
Marvel's Wolverine	KSh 9,500
Crimson Desert	KSh 10,000
Resident Evil Requiem	KSh 8,500

Will it run on your PS5?

Yes - any PS5 plays it. The practical questions are the disc drive and storage.

PS5 Slim Disc Edition - buy the disc, lend it, resell it later. This is the version most Kenyan buyers should own, and it is KSh 105,000 at iTey Store.
PS5 Slim Digital Edition - at KSh 95,000, no disc drive, so you download it. Fine if your internet is quick and uncapped.
PS5 Pro - the same game, with better frame rates and sharper resolution on a 4K TV.

On storage: a modern PS5 release of this size will take a serious bite out of a 1TB console. If you already keep FC, Call of Duty and a couple of open-world games installed, consider the expansion drive before launch rather than deleting something on the night.

How to have it on launch day in Nairobi

Kenya is not a launch market for game publishers, and physical discs arrive here through distribution, normally a week or two after the global date. Two ways around that:

Reserve the disc with us. WhatsApp +254 727 415 589 and we put your name on the first batch. You pay when it lands - no deposit required for a game.
Buy it digitally on launch day with a PlayStation Store gift card. The PlayStation Store charges in the currency of your account region, so you buy a card for that region, redeem it, and buy the game at midnight wherever you are. Codes are emailed in minutes, so this is the only reliable way to play on day one.

October and November on PS5

Phantom Blade Zero is not the only thing landing. Plan your spending:

Date	Release	Platform
23 October 2026	Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4	PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch
29 October 2026	Phantom Blade Zero	PS5, PC
19 November 2026	GTA 6	PS5

That is three major releases in four weeks. GTA 6 is the one to budget for first - it is already open for pre-order, and the price is locked at what you book today.

Frequently asked questions

When does Phantom Blade Zero release?

29 October 2026, worldwide, on PS5 and PC. It was moved back fifty days from an original 9 September date.

Is Phantom Blade Zero on Xbox?

No. The PS5 version holds a twelve-month console exclusivity, so an Xbox release cannot arrive before October 2027.

How much will it cost in Kenya?

We expect KSh 7,000 to 8,500 for the PS5 disc, in line with other new releases. That is an estimate until our stock is priced.

Is it a sequel?

No. It is a standalone game in a new world, so there is nothing you need to play first.

Do I need a PS5 Pro?

No. Any PS5 runs it. A Pro gives better frame rates and resolution on a 4K television, but the game is the same.

Can I play it on launch day in Kenya?

Digitally, yes - buy a PlayStation Store gift card for your account region and purchase it at launch. Physical discs usually reach Nairobi a week or two after the global date; reserve one with us and we will call you the day they arrive.
