Apple’s Standard One-Year Warranty
Apple’s one-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, ensuring quality in your device. However, knowing exactly what’s included and what isn’t can be confusing. We’ve broken it down for you—and at iTey Store, we go a step further by offering enhanced protection!

What the Warranty Does Not Cover
(Icon: ❌)
- Normal Wear & Tear: Damage from everyday use isn’t covered.
- Liquid Damage: Exposure to water or any other liquid is excluded.
- Unauthorized Repairs: Damage caused by non-Apple or unauthorized service providers isn’t covered.
- Accidental Damage: This includes abuse, drops, fire, earthquake, and other external causes.
- Third-Party Components: Damage from using parts that don’t meet Apple specifications.
- Cosmetic Damage: Scratches, dents, or broken plastic ports (unless from a manufacturing defect).
- Consumable Parts: Batteries and protective covers are excluded unless they fail due to defects.
- Serial Number Issues: Missing or damaged serial numbers are not covered.
- Theft & Security Issues: If Apple receives information from authorities about theft and you haven’t secured your device (e.g., via passwords), coverage won’t apply.
What the Warranty Does Cover
(Icon: ✅)
- Manufacturing Defects: Any failure due to faulty materials or workmanship.
- Screen Defects: Issues like dead pixels on built-in screens.
- Accessory Failures: Defective cameras and Apple-branded accessories.
- Hardware Malfunctions: Problems with speakers, microphones, charging ports, or docking ports.
Cracked Screens & Scratches

Accidental damage—such as cracked or scratched screens—is not covered by Apple’s warranty. Only screens that fail due to manufacturing defects (like dead pixels) may be eligible for coverage.
Water Resistance & Liquid Damage
(Icon: 💧)
Liquid damage is not covered under Apple’s warranty. Note that many Apple devices (iPods, iPhones, and iPads built after 2006) have Liquid Contact Indicators (LCIs) that show if your device has been exposed to moisture.
Battery Replacement Under Warranty
(Icon: 🔋)
Apple will replace your battery under warranty if its health dips below 80% during the first year of ownership. If there’s additional damage, repairs may be required before a battery replacement can proceed.
When Does the Warranty Start?
(Icon: 📅)
The warranty begins on the purchase date (as stated on your invoice), not when you activate your device.
